Answer 1 :
Find a Euro provider that has prepaid service over there, it'll be much cheaper.

Great question. Sprint, Alltel and T-Mobile don't really cater to this crowd right now. However, Verizon and AT&T do. Both have plans that let you roam in Europe with 100 MB per month. That's good for regular web pages and email but definitely not Youtube, downloading songs or music. It can get you the essentials done while still having domestic coverage when you come back. Verizon's is $130 while AT&T's is $140. However, for $230, AT&T will throw another 100 MB on it (200 MB in total). Full details on coverage and cost in the sources. I hope this helps

if it were me, i'd get the sprint or verizon 8830 blackberry: http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2051/64/ and when in europe, prolly do a pre-pay sim card.
