Can a US Laptop function well in Europe?

Can a US Laptop function well in Europe?
I am going to live in France for a while. I have a Toshiba that I purchased in the US. Will my laptop works in France? I know that the electricity voltage is different there as well as the power supply plug(different head) Thanks I heard that France has a different voltage and takes a different plug(head) than in the US.

Answer 1 :
get an adapter. it'll be fine.
Answer 2 :
Usually laptops as portable device has adapter that can take US and EU voltage. All you need is just outlet adapter. To make sure about voltage check your laptop power supply, it should say Power: 110-240V or something like that. Adapter you need is something like this (US to EU adapter): http://www.allcam.biz/catalog/images2/allcam/us_eu_adapter2.jpg EDIT: this is a universal set and it does have US to EU adapter. http://www.jr.com/sima/pe/SMA_SIP5USB/#productTabDetails or buy just this: http://www.jr.com/franzus/pe/FRN_NW1C/
Answer 3 :
HI, to my knowledge all Toshiba laptops come with a universal type mains adapter which can cope with voltages from 110 - 250. Your laptop will work perfectly in France but you may need an adapter to to convert the mains plug to fit European sockets.
Answer 4 :
Yes, it should be OK. Just make sure you get a European - USA plug adapter. Also, you need to make sure that the input supply voltage of the power pack goes up to 240v, otherwise you risk blowing up the transformer. Hope this helps
