Where to get the best deal for a laptop - Beijing, Shanghai, or Europe?
I need a new laptop (a core i5, 15/17 inch screen, discrete graphics, reliable and robust, have a few Acers, Asus and Lenovos in mind) I will be traveling in China - Beijing and Shanghai and in Barcelona in September. Prices home (Romania) are about 100 to 200 dollar higher than in the US (shops in the US don't ship in Romania). Where would I find the best deal? Would I have to pay any taxes upon return from in China? Regarding the Green Dam Youth Escort software - I would reinstall the OS with my own copy of win7 or a linux distro. So I don't think it would matter.

Euro is the last place you wannt buy any laptop or tech, the sales tax is so high. China is idea place for cheap laptop, just make sure you buy from big retailer not the small one. Price of laptop i s pretty cheap in U.S. aleady, in china and other place you can't just return most they can do is exchange.
