Will an adapter be enough in order to operate a U.S. laptop in Europe?

get one with a scourge protector, i wouldn't trust that socialist electricity

It depends on what voltage your power brick can handle. It should say on it somewhere what its input is. If it supports 110-240V you should be fine in most of Europe.
