Is there a difference between the alienware 15" laptops

Is there a difference between the alienware 15" laptops for the US market and the Europe market?
I see that there is a huge price difference for the laptops on both markets even with the same specs. I would like to buy one in the US and take it back to Europe with me so I was wondering if I would have problems with compatibility (graphics, cd-s, power etc.) Thanx!

Answer 1 :
u would need a different power supply and transformer, but other than that they should work, things are always more expensive in uk because we wont do anything, in the us, if something is too expensive they wont buy it, but in uk they overcharge coz they know we will buy it
Answer 2 :
Power supply likely is a minimal issue. They are likely universal 100~240V. The bigger issue would be keyboard internationalization, what can be included with the OS and systemas far as software goes, and customer/warranty support.

Answer 1 :
not sure. I think that you can buy a different cable specifically for europe. alternatively, you can buy a converter, but be careful b/c you don't want to fry your laptop.
Answer 2 :
it's gonna fry if u don't use the appropriate trnsformer/adapter, but i'm pretty sure it can be done

If customs check my laptop and find downloaded shows, do I get in trouble?

If customs check my laptop and find downloaded shows, do I get in trouble?
I have a few shows such as Dexter and CSI that I've downloaded using torrents. I'm coming to the USA on a trip and wanted to bring them along for when I'm bored, specially since my layover in Europe is 9 hours. If customs check my laptop and find them, do I get in trouble for illegal downloading? Can they prove that it's been downloaded and not bought and just copied to my machine? What about Mp3s?

Answer 1 :
They don't go through your laptop looking for downloaded movies/music. They will xray your computer to make sure its not a bomb, but they aren't gonna inspect the files on it.
Answer 2 :
It's illegal, and they do sometimes check at the border. TSA agents can randomly pick people out of a line and take them to a room where they require you to log on to your computer. They can then go through files and make you unencrypt any that are encrypted. If they find pirated materials, they can deny you entry and also levy a fine.
Answer 3 :
when i went through customs with a labtop i only had to show them it turned on. TSA is only worried if your computer is a weapon pirated movies and music would take way too much investigation for every person traveling with a labtop in and out of the country. Plus the TSA has nothing to do with illegally downloaded copies. Its an intellectual property issue and the copyright owners would be the ones filing charges not the TSA. I'm sure you will be fine.

Answer 1 :
you will need a voltage adapter, Europe runs on 220v, were 110 v you should be able to get one at a radio shack, any computer shop,
Answer 2 :
errr, the adapter will not transform the voltage, the transformer will. An adapter will only change the shape of the prongs so you can plug it in Europe Check the power brick of your laptop(you know, that huge brick on the power cord), it should say something like: Input: 110/220V. If it says exactly that, then yeah, all you need is a plug adapter since your power brick has a built in transfomer. If the laptop only says Input: 110V, then you would need a transformer. Make sure the transformer can deliver at least 120W of continuous power. Your other option is this case would be a new power supply like the ones you can get from igo: http://www.igo.com/selectorIGOSOL.asp You can also buy igo products at local stores, like radioshack. Most of them do come with buil in transformers. In either case, you would still need to buy the adapter.
Answer 3 :
you should check out this site where you can get a sony vaio laptop for free
