How to connect and successfully setup a router with a laptop?

How to connect and successfully setup a router with a laptop? I am from Malta Europe?
I would like to know how to successfully connect and setup a router with a laptop, knowing that my friend has a router and a laptop and she would like to connect her router with her laptop directly, and not leave the Internet connection hoocked up with her desktop computer directly. I also would like to point out, that my friend is from and lives in Malta Europe, therefore, her Internet Service provider is, GO. I would appreciate it very much, if you would kindly guide me step-by-step of how to successfully connect and set up a router with a laptop who has also the Internet service provided by GO in Malta Europe. With that said, I'm going to close this very important question by saying, I look forward to receive many helpful replies.

Answer 1 :
To connect your router to your computer, first, place your wire modem or DSL modem and unplug it to revolve it off. After that, attach your wireless router to your modem. Your modem should keep on linked directly to the Internet. Afterward, after you have enthusiastic the whole thing up, your computer will wirelessly attach to your router, and the router will throw connections through your modem to the Internet. After that, fix your router to your modem. If you at present have your computer associated openly to your modem: Unplug the network wire from the backside of your computer, and close it into the port tagged Internet, WAN, or WLAN on the backside of router. If you do not at present have a computer linked to the Internet: Plug one side of a network wire into your modem, and close the other end of the network wire into the Internet, WAN, or WLAN port on your wireless router. If you at present have your computer linked to a router: Unplug the network wire linked to the Internet, WAN, or WLAN port from your present router, and close this side of the wire into the Internet, WAN, or WLAN port on your wireless router. Then, unplug some extra network cables, and close them into the accessible ports on your wireless router. You no longer require your creative router, because your original wireless router returns it.

The answerer before me gave a good answer. I'd just like to point out that GO has an excellent customer service. If she still hasn't set up the connection she can call them on their freephone and they'll tell her how to connect it step by step. Hehe I should know. I connected mine wirelessly some 3 years ago and I was so ignorant about it all that I held the phone and did as instructed till it was all done.

Answer 1 :
If you pay for it.
Answer 2 :
yes u can
Answer 3 :
Yes, USA computers can use European WiFi and vice-versa. WiFi is pretty much the same all over the world. Of course, you can only use the WiFi if it's a network that doesn't need a password, or you know what the password is (and/or you're paying to use it).
Answer 4 :
yup...

Should I Buy A Laptop And Good Camera For Europe

Should I Buy A Laptop And Good Camera For Europe?
Next summer I'm going to Europe for 3 weeks on a trip through band and choir. I've never traveled internationally before so I'm not sure what kinds of electronics and such I should take, specifically a laptop and really good digital camera. I have a basic kodak right now, it's 8.2 MP and takes pretty good pics. But I want to know if I should get one thats really good, because I'm an amateur photographer and a photographic opportunity in Europe would be a sad thing to miss with a camera that isn't as good. also; should i get a laptop to put pictures on so I dont have to take so many memory cards? I have a tendency to take loads of pics on small things to I know I will take even more on this trip. do they have wireless internet at most hotels in Europe? I'm going to places like London, Paris, and Athens but I'm not sure if I could access free internet over there, and if I can do I need anything special for it? I know I have loads of questions, but any help is appreciated! Thanks! thanks for the tips especially about the voltage. that helps a lot. but I really need to know if it would be beneficial to me if I did bring a laptop or would it be impractical. I'm not backpacking I'm taking a bus and flights so it won't be hard traveling. If you have any firsthand experiences please share! same with a really nice digital camera, Im thinking a canon probably an EOS Rebel. does anyone know if that would be a good idea to take it or would it just be too much of a hassle. even if I do, i plan on taking my smaller one if we go out to dinner or to museums and such because they arent going to want someone taking bunches of pics at the Louvre probably!

Answer 1 :
If you bring a laptop Im not sure if you can use it. THey have different plug outlets than we do. You need to buy a plug transfer thing.
Answer 2 :
shure if u want to
Answer 3 :
If you bring electrical devices to Europe, make sure they have a voltage switch, and can be changed from 110 volts, as used in the USA, to 230 volts, as used in Europe. Otherwise to will need a voltage transformer in addition to the plug adapter. Wireless LAN is common in most European hotels in London, Paris or Athens.
Answer 4 :
you should check out this site where you can get a sony vaio laptop for free
