If i buy a laptop in america will it work in europe?

if i buy a laptop in america will it work in europe?
i am going on holidays to america and im wondering if i buy a laptop there will it work in europe, can i charge it here? is it compatible with the european power outlets??.

You will need an adaptor for use in Europe. If you are getting a MacBook one will be provided, you would have to check with any other brand because I only ever use Mac.

My friend move to Europe for college. He had to buy a cord for his laptop in order to use the internet. Sorry, I don't know what kind of cord it is.

Power outlets in the US are different than in Europe. You can buy a laptop with a charger in the US, but you'll need to purchase a different cable to feed the charger brick. Most bricks will handle 120 and 220 just fine, but be sure to read the label on the brick. Good luck!

Check out the DVD region codes as well. America is Region 1 which is totally different to Europes DVDs

YOU JUST NEED A PLUG ADAPTER FROM RADIO SHACK ( The transformer for most laptops support 110 V & 220 V Just read it and make sure ) !!

I'm going to be traveling through Europe and need a reliable laptop...?
I am going to be traveling through Europe mostly on foot and train. What would be the best laptop for me to purchase?

How about a net book, good battery life work as a slim version of a laptop, mostly you lose the cd/dvd drive but you can just as easily use Flash/thumb drives instead. I like the samsung NC10 for it's larger key board, 160GB hard drive and 10.2 inch screen.

Will an American Laptop with Wi-Fi work to connect to the Internet In Europe? Specifically Ireland?
My friend is visiting from Ireland and wants to purchase a laptop. But he is concerned that the wi-fi will not work in Ireland. Informed users please advise. Obviously he needs to have an ISP in Ireland. But it's the hardware that I'm concerned about.

it should work... the only thing that he might have to worry about is his ac adapter.. the voltage might not be compatible for a US product and he might have to bring a power converter.. i know this because i traveled to israel, spain, and greece and my laptop worked fine i just needed an power converter for my charger

Should work fine, just the AC is different than that of the US of A.. Good travelling...

wifi is different from 3g netowrk!! if your computer has wifi you can connect to any network that is hosted with an access point, with proper username and password. (doesnt matter which country you are at, it is the same idea as connecting your computer using a cable through a router, switch or hub) however 3g network is going thru your telephone company. you must buy a plan! and almost all companies in United States have limit on monthly bandwidth. and for international use they charge pretty high as well! it just like the idea you are using your cell phone, they charge per minute, and for 3g network they charge per MB.
