Does it cost money to send emails in Europe on my own laptop?
Okay, im guessing no, or it wont work, but i want to make sure. Alright so i bought my laptop in the USA and im going to Europe this summer. I want to send emails on yahoo to other people. All on my computer, to people living in the USA. Will they make me pay?

What are you talking about? Emails are free all over the world. You will be able to send as many as you want for free.

Hi So long as you can connect to the internet ie a friends internet connection or a free public wireless connection no it wont cost anything to send emails anywhere in the world

Why is it that my mobile and laptop each have shorter battery life whenever I recharge them in Europe?
I maintain homes both in Asia and Europe. I bought my laptop and mobile phone in Asia where gadgets are relatively cheaper. However, I noticed that whenever I recharge them here, they each get shorter battery lives. Not only that. My laptop has also begun encountering system errors. I wonder if there's any solution to this problem apart from buying a new laptop and mobile.

Your international voltage converters may not be putting out the required volts or current, thereby preventing the batteries from getting a full charge.

What to be careful about when buying laptop in the US and then taking it to Europe?
What to be careful about when buying laptop in the US and then taking it to Europe?
I am planning on buying a laptop soon and will take it with me to Europe quite often. Is there something that I need to be careful with when taking it to Europe? Will DVDs bought in Europe play on this laptop?

The international warranty will only be valid outside the US for US citizens (which if your not a US citizen and the computer breaks down in Europe is really going to cause you a lot of trouble). I wouldn't expect DVDs bought in Europe to play on it (at least not without changing the setting so that DVDs bought in the US won't play, and you can only do that a limited number of times). In terms of power supply you probably won't have any problems just using dumb plug adapters (which are pretty cheap), laptop power supplies tend to be able to handle any voltage and frequency you can find anywhere in the world. Though if you plug something other than your laptop bought in the US into the plug adapters make sure it can handle 230 V (or 220 V or 240 V, they're all now the same thing) and 50 Hz (otherwise you'll hear a bang and see smoke) and that if it has a switch to select input voltage that it is set to 230 or 220 or 240 not 110 or 115 or 100 or 127.

I would buy a carrying bag from Custom-Kingdom.com, they're very sleek and will fit in the carry-on compartment with no troubles. I've never had trouble taking mine out of the country, but I always keep it onboard with me.

What is the best Internet (wireless) provider for travels in Europe with a laptop?
I am going to Europe for two months and need to take my laptop (Dell). I need to make sure that I have good Internet connection. I have a cell phone with T-Mobile and at home Qwest DSL. What can I do with my laptop?

As long as the laptop has a wireless card either internal or external, it should pick up on any hot spot where ever you go. The Internet Service Provider has nothing to do with it, exept for when you have a network setup at home with your wireless router that is connect the your modem, which would be in some way connect to the Internet you pay for.

I live in Germany and use GMX. It gives me DSL 16,000 wireless. The connections are great and it is amazingly fast! As soon as you click a link the next page is open. Downloads are nothing. As for your cell phone, be careful! I know soo many people that have come to Europe and their phone works, but wait till you see the bill. I mean thousands of dollars! Leave the phone at home and get one here with a calling plan to the States, you can find them anywhere. But my advice is mainly for Germany, it depends where you are at. Have a great time!
